What we collect, why, and what we never publish.
This policy describes what Dentistry's Best collects, why, and what we never publish. It applies to this website and to the nomination, listing and referral features on it.

What we collect
Nomination submissions, including credentials, licensure details, written statements, uploaded documents, and the IP address and timestamp recorded with every signed attestation. Contact form submissions. Standard server logs.
What we never publish
Patient review statements submitted in section 6 of a nomination are internal only. Attestation IP addresses are never shown publicly. Patient identifying information is never accepted in a case study, and every case is checked for it before publication.
Patient case authorizations
Before and after imagery is published only where the practice holds a signed patient authorization, attested to at the point of submission and retained on file.
Retention
Nomination files are retained whether or not the nomination clears review, so that a later re-nomination can be assessed against the earlier record. Attestations are retained indefinitely as legal records.
Cookies
We set two cookies, and only to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. There is no advertising cookie, no third-party tracker, no analytics script and no pixel on this site. Nothing here follows you to another one. The only third party your browser contacts is Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces.
Who we share it with
Nobody. We do not sell, rent or trade what we hold, and listings are not advertising slots — a practice cannot pay to appear or to rank. Email we send is delivered through Google Workspace, and the site runs on Amazon Web Services; both process data on our behalf and for no other purpose.
How we protect it
The site is served over HTTPS only. Uploaded documents — headshots and case imagery — are stored outside the public web root and are served only to people authorized to see them. Passwords are stored hashed and are never recoverable, by us or anyone else.
Children
This site is for adults choosing dental care and for dental professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from children. A case study involving a pediatric patient is the responsibility of the submitting practice under the same authorization requirement as any other.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the date above changes with it. We do not make quiet edits.
Your rights
Write to us to request a copy of what we hold about you, or to ask for its deletion. Deletion requests that would remove an attestation attached to a live listing will result in the listing being unpublished.
